Dark Dojo Studios, LLC ("Dark Dojo Studios," "we," "us," or "our") operates darkdojostudios.com, including our online store, content, features, tools, and digital products such as the DDS Extraction Shooter Kit (together, the "Services"). Our store is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit the site, purchase a Kit license or other product, receive product updates, or otherwise communicate with us. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand how your information is handled as described here. If this Privacy Policy conflicts with our Terms of Service, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to personal information.
1. What We Collect
"Personal information" means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. It does not include anonymous or de-identified data. Depending on how you interact with the Services, we may collect:
- Contact details: name, email address, billing address, and phone number.
- Payment information: payment card details, transaction details, and payment confirmations, processed by our payment providers. We do not store full card numbers ourselves.
- Account information: username, password, preferences, and settings, if you create an account.
- Purchase and license information: the products you view, add to your cart, or purchase, your order history, and the email address tied to your Kit license or Patreon membership, which we use to deliver Kit updates and verify license status.
- Communications: anything you include when you contact us, such as support requests, bug reports, or feature requests.
- Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device details, and how you interact with the site, collected automatically including through cookies and similar technologies.
We collect this information directly from you, automatically through the Services, from service providers such as Shopify that process it on our behalf, and from platforms you connect with us through, such as Patreon.
2. How We Use It
- Providing the Services: processing payments and orders, delivering digital products and download links, sending Kit updates and license related emails, managing your account, and handling returns or cancellations where applicable.
- License management: verifying that you hold a valid Kit license or active Patreon membership, and keeping your delivery email current so you receive updates.
- Marketing: sending promotional emails and showing you advertising, including ads based on your activity on the Services. You can opt out at any time (see Section 8).
- Security and fraud prevention: authenticating accounts, securing payments, and detecting or investigating fraudulent or malicious activity. Keep your account credentials private; do not share your login details with anyone.
- Support and communication: responding to your questions and maintaining our relationship with you.
- Legal compliance: complying with applicable law, responding to valid legal process, and enforcing our terms and license agreements.
3. How We Share It
We may disclose personal information:
- With Shopify and other vendors who perform services for us, such as payment processing, IT, analytics, customer support, cloud storage, and email delivery.
- With business and marketing partners to provide marketing and advertising. For example, we use Shopify to support personalized advertising based on your online activity across merchants and websites. Partners use your information under their own privacy notices. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to opt out of this sharing; you can do so here.
- When you direct or consent to a disclosure, such as through social media widgets or login integrations.
- In connection with a business transaction such as a merger, to comply with legal obligations, to enforce our terms or the Kit License Agreement, or to protect the Services, our rights, and the rights of our users.
4. Shopify
The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your use of the Services to provide and improve them. Information you submit may be transmitted to Shopify and to third parties located in other countries. We also use certain Shopify enhanced features that draw on data from your interactions with our store, other merchants, and Shopify; for those features, Shopify is responsible for the processing of your personal information, including responding to rights requests. Learn more in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy or exercise rights through the Shopify Privacy Portal.
5. Third Party Platforms and Links
The Services link to third party sites and platforms, including Patreon (where Kit memberships are managed) and Discord (our community server). Those platforms operate under their own privacy policies and terms, which we encourage you to review. We are not responsible for the privacy or security of third party sites. Anything you post in public or semi-public spaces, such as our Discord server or community forums, may be visible to other users.
6. Children
The Services are not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of majority in your jurisdiction. If you are a parent or guardian of a child who has provided us personal information, contact us using the details below to request deletion. We do not have actual knowledge that we "share" or "sell" (as defined in applicable law) personal information of individuals under 16.
7. Security and Retention
No security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information through unsecured channels. We retain personal information as long as needed to maintain your account, deliver the Services and Kit updates, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

- Access / Know: request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Delete: request that we delete your personal information.
- Correct: request that we correct inaccurate information.
- Portability: receive a copy of your information and, in some cases, have it transferred to a third party.

Learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org. We do not respond to other "Do Not Track" signals.
- Marketing emails: unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails. We may still send non-promotional emails, such as order confirmations and Kit update notifications tied to your license.
If you live in the UK or European Economic Area, you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (without affecting prior processing).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity first. You may use an authorized agent with proof of authorization. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.

10. International Transfers
We may transfer, store, and process your personal information outside your country. For transfers out of the EEA or UK, we rely on recognized mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (or the UK equivalent), unless the destination country has been deemed to provide adequate protection.
