Studio Origins

In 2018, Dark Dojo Studios was founded with a mission to build bold, immersive, and multiplayer experiences. The studio’s flagship title began as a project called Infrared, which would later evolve into the game now known as The Fixers. That same year, a core team of 9 passionate creators including programmers, 3D artists, environment designers, and sound engineers came together to bring this vision to life.

Original Roadmap: Completed (2018–2019)

We successfully delivered on our initial pre-release goals:

  • ✅ Enemy AI
  • ✅ Vendor NPCs
  • ✅ Player-seeking drone AI
  • ✅ Vehicle mechanics

  • ✅ Menu UI functionality
  • ✅ Character customization (models, outfits)
  • ✅ Dynamic weather system
  • ✅ Time-of-day system
  • ✅ Team/squad functionality

However, in 2020, development was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tragically, we also lost one of our senior programmers to COVID-related complications. This was a deeply difficult period for our team.

Resurgence & Rebuilding

During the hiatus, our founder pivoted to community building, connecting with streamers, reviewers, and creating content as a streamer to grow a grassroot following around The Fixers. This initiative laid the foundation for a stronger return to development, with a passionate player base eager to support the project.

As of 2024, development has resumed with renewed energy. With the help of our senior dev, we’ve made major strides toward bringing The Fixers to Steam Early Access.

  • Reputation System (gain rep with Fixers, unlock new missions/weapons)
  • ✅ Expand & unlock zones in Blackloop Terminal
